UNAOC for Safe Worship

The United Nations Plan of Action to Safeguard Religious Sites provides a global framework to protect places of worship and promote safety, dignity, and mutual respect. It recognises that religious sites are central to community life and must remain spaces where people can worship freely and without fear.

The Plan emphasises prevention, cooperation, and community engagement, encouraging governments, civil society, faith organisations, and local communities to work together to address risks, counter hatred, and strengthen resilience.

This framework aligns with our work supporting mosques and Muslim communities by promoting proportionate security measures, dialogue, and shared responsibility to ensure places of worship remain safe, welcoming, and accessible.
